Blood Drive

United Blood Services will be holding a Mobile Blood Drive in Pagosa Springs. The mobile unit will be at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 1044 Park Avenue, Pagosa Springs on October 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please stop by and donate!

Potential Impersonator

La Plata Electric Association (LPEA) is asking local resisidents to be alert for an individual (or individuals) supposedly representing LPEA, placing late-night phone calls to homeowners to discuss “unusually high” electicity use at the location and warning of impending higher bills. If such a phone call is received, members are asked to note the phone number on the caller ID, if available. LPEA asks that any customers who have recently received similar unsolicited phone calls from supposed LPEA personnel contact LPEA at 970-247-5786.

Hunter Education Classes

These courses will be open to anyone wishing to obtain a hunter safety card. If you were born on or after January 1, 1949 you are required to have a hunter safety card before you can purchase a hunting license. The classes are being held October 20 and 21, 2011 or November 3 and 4, 2011. The classes run from 5:30 p.m. untill 10:00 p.m. on Thursday and 8:00 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday. Students must attend Thursday AND Friday classes. For more information or to register call 970-264-2197. This course is sponsored by the Pagosa Springs Police Department in conjunction with the Colorado Division of Wildlife.

Broncos and Pirates…

This Saturday, August 27, both the Denver Broncos and the Pagosa Pirates are playing football at approximately the same time. KWUF 1400 AM will be broadcasting the Pagosa Pirates game live, but Bronco’s fans never fear… You can listen to the live Broncos game broadcast on KALQ 93.5 FM in Alamosa.
